Biopic Project - Princess Margaret
University Speculative Project
Making A Dior Inspired Princess Margaret Dress:
This dress was a second-year project that I both designed and constructed.
The inspiration behind the look was a young Princess Margaret attending a make-believe summer charity event hosted by Dior.
I designed the main dress to reflect classic couture, using a purple and beige palette to create a cohesive look. This project taught me the value of harmony in design.
One of the biggest challenges was making gloves for the first time—they turned out beautifully and complemented the bodice details.
I also began exploring millinery, shown in the machine-embroidered hat worn by my model, which adds a delicate, personal touch to the overall ensemble.

Designing For Princess Margaret:
This collection was part of a biopic project cantered on Princess Margaret. I recreated five of her iconic looks and designed two original gowns inspired by her style in imagined scenarios.
The project deepened my appreciation for detail and historical integrity, involving thorough research, fabric boards, and carefully chosen materials.
I also designed a costume for Queen Elizabeth—an elegant, knee-length dress for an imagined evening ball—and a final look for a 21-year-old Princess Margaret at a spring charity event, inspired by Dior and paired with a fur shawl.
Extensive research into royal protocol ensured every design felt authentic. This was one of my favourite projects, combining historical accuracy with creative interpretation.
